Happy Anniversary!!

A little late, but I just wanted to say Happy Anniversary to my husband!! We are celebrating our 8 year wedding anniversary today, and our 11 year anniversary of being together!!!! I love you babe, I know that sometimes I'm a nag and a little spoiled at times, but I so appreciate you and everything you do for us. People always say that it takes a special woman to put up with someone like you (lol) but I'm glad that God chose me to be that "special" kind of woman :-) .
You treat me like a queen, and always have, even when I don't deserve it. You are a Godly man and a great role model for our son. You lead our house well and I truly love you for that.
People may not know this, but we met in the 4th grade, he had a "crush" on me and did everything for me, of course I took advantage of that one! I had a crush on him too, and you know little girls, you can always tell if they like you if they are mean to you...So yes, I was mean to him, but only because I liked him, haha. ;-) He went to a different class for the 5th grade, and I ended up moving out of town. So, that was the last time I saw him. When I was a senior in highschool, I was in the office for something and I heard a familiar voice...I knew it was him! After 8 years and after he had already gone through puberty and all, I still recognized his voice! So, I followed him and asked him if his name was Michael Anderson, of course he said yes, then I told him that I was Angela Carlson, from the 4th grade....He didn't believe me...We ended up going to the prom together, but he had a date and I had a date, we just all went together...3 days later, May 19th 1998, we started dating....3 years later May 19, 2001, we got married!! So, there is our story. Aaawwww, how cute!!! :-D

Anyways, I love you Michael Paul. Happy Anniversary!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHINE!!

Happy Birthday to our Shine Shine! Girl, we love and miss you so much! I wish you could have been here so we could have celebrated your birthday with Alex's at Chuck E Cheese! :-)
Anyway, we are so proud of the (young) woman you are growing up to be! I can't believe you are 14!!!!!! You are growing up way too fast! We love you so much and hope today was a very special day because you totally deserve it! Love you girl!

Ya Alex!

Ok, I just have to take a quick minute and brag on Alex. He got a letter sent home with him yesterday letting us know that he had earned the right to participate in the AR (Accelerated Readers) party! Only a few from his class were able to attend! I am so proud of him! He is a great reader and I am so glad that he got to participate in that. He received a booklet from the Nashville Sounds (the city's baseball team) with a free kids meal from Wendy's, Fazoli's and Rainforest Cafe! Good job Alex!!!

Oh my gosh!!! When did this stinken happen?????? I cannot believe our son is 6 years old today!
Happy Birthday booger! We love you so so so so much! And we are so thankful that God blessed us with such an awesome kid!!! You are the best! Words really can't express what an AMAZING kid you are! Happy Birthday son, we love you!




Now, I gotta get back to spending time with you and finishing up your birthday cake that Grandma made me make for you! Yes mom, I made him a cake ON his birthday! :-)

So, I haven't posted in a couple months because I've been WAY WAY busy! But I think I need to take some time out and say Happy Birthday to Ashley! So Happy Birthday! We love you so much and we are so sO SO proud of you and the woman you have become! We hope your day was perfect!

When did this happen?

How did Alex get so big so fast? I'm not ready for him to grow up! But this made it official I guess. He lost his first tooth!
Here's us trying to get the sucker out...We tried using a pair of tweezers because his teeth are so small I couldn't get my finger behind it! Once we loosened it a little more, I was able to reach my fingers to pull on it a little.


Ok, so I didn't pull on it a little, I pulled the thing out! :-)

And here he is the next morning! The tooth fairy came to visit! Why she left M&M's is beyond me, I mean, isn't she supposed to be promoting good oral health? :-)

Another "Year Ago Today" Post.

So, a year ago today we arrived in Nashville, TN. That's all I'm gonna say about that. LOL.

A Year Ago Today...

Was the last day we were on California soil! I can't believe it's been a year since we left...In fact, almost a year to the hour! It seems like just yesterday, we were packing up the U-Haul's and saying the last of our goodbye's. Now, I blinked, and a year has flown by. What a year it has been too! I cannot believe the changes that have happened in a year's time! Never ever ever in a million years would I ever have thought that I would EVER leave California! Did you catch the "EVER" part?? But here we are in Nashville, TN, and to be perfectly honest, I know this is exactly where we are supposed to be. And we absolutely love it! We are so thankful and so excited that we were called here!
So, here are pictures from exactly a year ago! ("borrowed" from Sheri) :-)

It was an awesome adventure getting here! And we've had an even more awesome adventure since we've been here! Hmm, that line doesn't really sound like me...How bout this...Nashville ROCKS!!! :-) And so does Gateway Life for that matter!

I had to watch it like 5 times because it was just so cute! Man, kids grow way too fast!

Quick Update.

Well, we are still here!!
Just a quick note to say to all of you that have been praying for us and what we are doing here, well, your prayers are really working! Keep it up! God is doing some AMAZING things here in Nashville, and especially within Gateway Life Church! We are seeing new faces, new salvations and re-dedications, we have hit another level in worship, the people are catching hold of the vision and truly running with it, the growth in personal lives here has been amazing! God is such a good God no matter what part of the world you are in! There is SO much more to share but the cat hasn't been let out of the bag yet to everyone, but trust me, when it is, I'll definitely post! It's so exciting, and just reaffirms that we are doing what God has called us here to do!!!!

On another note, we had visitors this past weekend, my (Ang's) dad, stepmom, youngest brother Justin, and my little niece Trinity all came down for a visit from Oklahoma. They were planning on staying till Monday, but my stepmom had to work Monday, so they had to leave on Sunday morning. I was bummed that they didn't get to experience one of our services, but I think a man named God had something to do with it...Had they have left on Monday, they would have run through some really really bad weather, hwy 40 going into Oklahoma had ice all over it, so who knows...They are an extension of us, therefore, they are protected right? :-) Here's a picture of us, it was freezing this day, so we just decided to step foot on the grounds of the Grand Ole Opry, just so they could say they've been there. ;0)


On another side note, schools are closed today due to "inclement weather" It's supposed to snow today! Heavy at times, with about 1-2 inches of accumulation! WhooHoo! Finally! So, be watching for a post on that...IF they are right about it, seems like sometimes, they are completely off!

I'm a Slacker once again!

Ok, so I'm just as guilty as everyone else...There's been lots of people MIA in blogland, and I, yes am one of them! :-) I have taken lots of pictures with my NEW camera, however, I don't think it came with a USB cord because I can't seem to find it. So, as soon as I'm able to find it, or get a new one, I'll be able to post my pictures. I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I'll be back soon!

O'Christmas Tree, O'Christmas Tree!!

Yeah, we are a little late decorating this year. We had to get a real tree this time (oh darn)...I was planning on going to a Tree Farm and have Mike cut down a tree with an axe, but he wasn't going for it! I'm still wondering why. ;-)

Anyways, Mike went to Lowes and got a tree, I told him I really didn't care where he got it, just go get one!!! Not a lot of pictures of it, so I'm only posting 2. My camera wasn't really capturing it the way I wanted it to.

I love real trees. We've only had 1 since we've been married and I forgot how good they smell!

This would have been one of my 12 Days of Christmas, but I think I'm "dropping out". lol. I don't have enough to post on. Good luck to everyone else though!

What are we thinking??

Ok, so if you've read my previous post, you saw the recent update I did to myself. You know, the whole "Fish on a hook" thing! Ok, well, today, I also got a funkier hairstyle...Which I love!...BUT this post is NOT about me for a change! It's about my husband Michael! Yes, I'm still married and yes, he does still exist. LOL. I know, I very rarely do posts about him, but this, I think deserves a special post.

So when we were at the tattoo shop a couple weeks ago, Mike found this design on a poster and got to talking to the tattoo artist Caleb (the same guy that did Mike Toews and Cortnee's tats), well, Caleb has really been wanting to do that design on somebody and was really excited that Mike was interested. He was even going to give Mike a special price because of the fact that he has always wanted to do it on someone. So, we went to the tattoo place today and YES, he did it!!!

This was the second the needle started going.

It actually looks really really cool! Caleb did a GREAT job!

I don't know what we are thinking...Piercings and tattoos??!! See what Nashville does to people? HaHaHa.

Fish on a Hook!

So last week, we all did something crazy...Zach and Cortnee were here visiting Mike and Cindy and Cortnee convinced Sheri and Cindy to get their noses pierced. Sheri's been wanting it done for a while but she just needed a little push and Cortnee was just the one to do it! :-) Ya Cortnee! Well, I've been thinking for a while about getting another piercing myself, and just being there and with a little push from my husband, I went ahead and went through with it. I've looked up this kind of piercing online and from what I've read, it's one of the most painful piercings you can get! (Thankfully I read that AFTER I got it done!) I also read that when you get this done, you officially know what's it's like to be a "fish on a hook". Aint that the truth! lol. So here I am getting "hooked"The tattoo shop that we went to was awesome! It was right downtown and everyone in there was a believer! They had Christian music playing, bibles by the door, and just their way of doing things is amazing! We found one of our new favorite places here in Nashville! :-)

Yep, we all got something done that night! 3 piercings and 2 tats..Mike Toews got a cool tat on his arm too. And Cortnee got a really cute little star behind her ear! Sheri and Cindy's noses look so cute!
Here's the finished product, HOWEVER, in 9 days I will be putting a smaller stud in. (Sheri I need that picture of your husband and the stupid spoon lol)

I personally like it. I know there are some that I've heard that do not like this type of piercing. And that's ok, I didn't do it for you. I did it for me. :-)

It's actually called a Labret (sounds like Lebrae). It's not considered a lip piercing.

So, there you have it. If you want to know what it felt like in case you are considering it yourself, the initial piercing was a piece of cake, it's the after effects that suck. Nothing you can't handle though! :-) I know, I'm crazy. In a good way though. HaHaHa.

We are going back on Friday for something else...Hmmmm, wonder what it could be...Check back cuz I'll definitely be posting it!

SALLY.

Well, I have been planning something for some time now, and the time has finally come! Alex saw me getting our "guest room" ready for somebody and so he asked me, "mom, who is coming to visit us?" So, I told him "Oh, uh, Sally is coming to visit us" He asked me, "Who is Sally?" I told him, "It's just somebody you don't know" (there's actually a story behind the whole Sally person). So, it was time to go pick Sally up from the airport....

Mike told Alex on the way to the airport that Sally was a really old lady who walked with a walker, and she stunk really bad and she had really ugly feet. LOL. So, here is Alex waiting for this old lady...

After about an hour of waiting, FINALLY Sally arrived!

He was absolutely speechless! I've never seen him like this before. He was seriously expecting an old stinky lady, but instead he got his beautiful grandma! (whose name is not Sally by the way lol). We haven't seen my mom in 9 months, and her and Alex are very very close. It was very hard to keep this a secret from him for so long (about 2 weeks!), but he had no clue! It was great! We are so excited to have my mom here! She'll be here visiting Nashville until Nov. 28th, so I will definitely be posting more of her visit as time goes on! Here are some more pictures...

Yes, he cried. This was after my mom told him that Papa really really wanted to come too, but he wasn't able to this time. :-(

We went to Cracker Barrel afterwards..We had to let her experience some good ol' country cookin'. It was yummy!

Notice there are no pictures of my mom and I, or Mike and my mom, it was ALL about Alex. :-) Which I'm totally ok with that because he missed her so so much! There's plenty of time to get pictures with her. :-)

Now, the story about Sally..When my brother and I were younger, we were with my mom in the supermarket and you know, it was one of those "mom, mom, mom, mom!" days, where you are hearing mom from every direction. Well, she was a little fed up at the time, so she said "Mom is no longer here, it's Sally!" So, we giggled and said "Mom"...no answer..."Mom"...still no answer..."Sally"...She answered! So, mom checked out, and Sally checked in! So, when she was just wanting to escape from "mom world" Sally came to visit. Sally was really cool. LOL. So, I told Alex that he doesn't know Sally because well, Grandma has never had to check out when it comes to him! So, there's the story about Sally. :-)

Check back often, I'm sure I won't have as many posts as some with this little competition we have going, but that's ok. :-D
