First Day of School!

Well, that dreaded day arrived.....Alex's first day of Kindergarten! What a day! He did so good! I actually did very very well, I'm pretty pleased with myself! :-) I got teary eyed when he was putting his backpack on the little hook. I still really can't believe that my baby is a Kindergartener!

His School...Thank God he got into this one, we are actually zoned for a different school which is a very run down school. I had to put in a special transfer for him to go to this one! We had favor!
Ok...Here we go!
Daddy had to tighten his backpack.
We are so proud of our big boy! This kid loves computers! He asked the teacher if they could play PBSkids dot ordHis little cubbyHe's such a big boy! Showing his dad their computers
This is where I teared up. :*(His name card at his desk.
All the kids had Play-Doh, and he wanted some...Give that baby some Play-Doh teacher!

His teacher Ms. GilliardHis class...And the back of Alex's headBye! Don't worry mom, I'll be ok, now get that stupid camera outta here! :-)
Yes...We are the proud owners of that little boy!
Ooops, how did that get here! Guess I had a little too much "fun" on the 1st day of school!
Here's when we went to pick him UP from school!

We waited 45 minutes! School traffic sucks! Here he comes!
YAY! We made it thru his first day!!

What an event! Now, let me just tell you, NO it is not normal for 4 people to go with one student all the way to class and stay there forever taking pictures! But we had to cuz well, it's our little Alca Buns! I didn't see any other parents taking pictures of their kids! Thanks Re-Re and Ashley for coming with us and taking the pictures!

Well, that's it for now! I have some other stuff that I have to post so check back soon!

Congratulations Michael!!

Mike has been with his company for less than 5 months and God has really placed favor on him since he's been there! He works for a door installation company and was initially hired on as their delivery driver. He was told he would be getting paid a certain amount but when he got his first check, come to find out, they were paying him what he initially asked for! Which was a pretty significant difference! Praise God! He was doing deliveries for about 3 1/2 months when they started talking about placing him in installs. Well, he moved to installs about 3 weeks ago, and he's been loving every minute of it! He's never really done installs before, but he apparently ROCKS it! So, yesterday, his boss wanted to talk to him....About a Promotion!!!! As of yesterday, Michael is the Lead Installation Technician!!! And he's getting paid as such! Which is a substantial raise!
Congratulations Mike!! I am SOOOO proud of you!
We give all the glory to God for this! He is so faithful to his Word! It just goes to show you that when you follow His voice, He will fulfill His promises! He will take care of you. We are so excited with what He is doing in our lives! He is definitely GOOD! :-)

6 Days 18.5 Hours...

6 Days 18.5 hours till we officially say goodbye to our "little" boy and say hello to our BIG kindergartener! I just really can't believe it to be honest with you! I've been home with him for all but 9 months of his life! What am I going to do????? Separation Anxiety here I come! LOL. Just kidding....Well, kinda....I'm gonna need to keep myself busy I think. HaHa. It's going to be like a whole new life for us! Taking him and picking him up everyday, helping him with his homework, open houses, parent/teacher meetings, Oh Lord help me! LOL! Anyways...It was just on my mind. :-)

School Shopping!

Well, the dreaded time has arrived....School Shopping....People always say cherish every moment because before you know it, they'll be all grown up. How true that is! Alex isn't all grown up yet, but he's already starting school! That's a big deal to me!!!! And how quickly this has come! It honestly seems like just yesterday I was bringing him home from the hospital for the first time. Ok, I better stop before I start sobbing!

Alex LOVES scissors! I don't know if it's every kid that loves them or if it's just something that he seems to be into, but he loves to get in there and just cut things up! He even got scissor happy one day in his room and decided to give our dog a little trim!

He's also really into Globes...He loves the ones that have the "bumpy" stuff on them...He likes us to point out where Tennessee is, then we explain to him where we use to live and where we live now. He really likes them...Hmm, good gift idea for maybe Christmas...I'll have to keep that one in mind. :-)

We looked for a backpack, but they didn't have a very good selection so we're keeping our eyes open for a cuter one!

ReRe always has surprises for him, well, not always, but it would be always if he had HIS way...He's telling her that next time she comes to church, to make sure she brings this for him!

We got him a new Thermos too! How cute huh! It's a Crayola Crayon one! He was showing how you're supposed to use it.

Next it was off to the clothes section...He has to wear uniforms here so we were pretty limited on what we could buy...

Shhhh, don't tell my mom where I'm at!

He really does look cute in these uniforms though!

"Hmm, I think I look pretty good"

What do you think?

ReRe, did you take a picture of me?

Now it's time for the shoes

"Will these shoes make me jump higher?"

"That was high, but I can go higher! Look at this!"

"OH MY GOTH!! DID YOU SEE HOW HIGH I WENT!???"

The Shoes....

Here's his stuff, I forgot my shopping list that the school gave me, so I still have more to get...Quite a bit more!! I think he's got a pretty good start though.

So in 1 week and 6 days, my baby boy will be starting Kindergarten!! Oh my gosh! TRUST ME, you will be seeing some pictures of his first day of school too! Probably alot of me boohooing definitely! :*( Well, probably not, I won't post myself crying. LOL.

Today was a great day!

So, we started the day off setting up for service and it was just so awesome to see 2 of the men that attend regularly helping. I love seeing how the people of Gateway Life are really taking ownership of the vision of the house and they are really running with it! I never would have even imagined that this is something I would be a part of! I feel so honored to have been called here to help build this great ministry for the Kingdom! It blesses me so much just to see the people that we have been praying for get involved and really start living for Christ. There's just something so different about it when you put all the "mechanics" aside and really concentrate on what God is wanting you to do. Sometimes we get so caught up in those mechanics that we completely miss out on what God has for us. I'm so thankful that I got that revelation! :-) Anyway...

So, after we finished setting up, Mike and I went and picked up Dan and Kellerie at the hotel because they were leaving Nashville today and going back home to good ol' Cali. We decided to go eat some grub at Texas Roadhouse...Ok, for those of you who have never been to Texas Roadhouse, you have NO IDEA what you are missing!! I recommend the Country Fried Sirloin. ;0) Then, after that, we went to TBN in Trinity Music City. It was pretty cool...We got to look inside Conway Twitty's mansion. Lots of Blue and Gold...Not my cup of tea, but back then, I'm sure it was pretty popular. So, here's some pictures. :-) Enjoy~

Dan and Kellerie...

This is where they do their services and I guess some of their live recordings

I don't know what this is, but I'm sure it's something important. :-)

Look mom! What's your set doing in Tennessee?....Weird, my mom has this EXACT set!

Conway Twitty's Mansion...

A statue of uhhhhh, somebody. lol.

He's just so cute, I gotta have at least ONE picture of him!

I thought this was cool

Hey look, it's ME!

This was inside a building where they show movies and stuff..It had a TON of mirrors...My 2 guys, aren't they handsome?

I'm lovin this picture! It's like a true TBN shot with all the Gold! LOL.

We had a great time with Dan and Kellerie! We are looking forward to their visit next year!
So, now, the day is over and I am so looking forward to tomorrow! God has been adding to the house weekly, I can't wait to see who He brings in this week!

Love ya'll! :o)

Swimming!

So, another day at the pool! It seems to be our weekly thing now, right when we get home from setting up church, we get into our suits and go take a dip! Last week, Alex really stepped out of his "comfort zone" aka his floaties! And really started swimming on his own! We were SO proud of him! Just looking at these pictures makes me realize how big he really is getting!

(I'm having fun with Photoshop! LOL)

Uh Oh, water up the nose!

Here mom, here's your goggles back.
Here's some videos of him swimming! Aren't you so proud of him?? We are! :-)

Isn't he just so stinken cute! We are so proud of our big guy! Can you believe he is starting Kindergarten in 3 weeks!! Aaahhhhh!!!! :-)

Our Bride to Be!!

So last night us girls (Sheri, Ashley, Lori, Jessica and myself) all went to a bridal show in Franklin, TN. For those of you that know the family know that my niece (Ashley) is engaged to be married...When, you ask? Well, we don't quite know yet...The date hasn't been officially set.
:-) Anyways, It was held at The Factory which is a really really cute little indoor shopping mall. They had SO many booths! It made me want to get married all over again! To the same man of course! :-) It was so cute because the first 300 brides got a little pink hat that said Bride on it and a veil sown onto it. So, here we go with the pictures! And yes, for all of you who love videos, I got a few of them down there too! :-)

This is the water tower in front of The Factory (this is the only way we were able to find the place...Had to get directions from a stranger downtown! LOL)

Here's Ashley with her pink hat..It was SO cute!

She got a pin that said "The Future Mrs. H"

Here's the bride and her mommy!

This is a cute little bag from one of the vendors there.

Oh, look I managed to get a picture of myself in there! And Lori too! :-)

Hey look, Jessie shrunk! (That's what Alex thought at first! LOL)

The Incredible Shrinking Girls!

Ok, Sorry that this is sideways, I didn't realize that it wouldn't turn right side up when I uploaded to my computer! But it's funny anyways. They dropped something so that's why you hear Ashley say "UhOh!" And then they were trying to rock it! LOL.

This one is just plain out funny! Listen to Ashley after Jessica gets off the chair! LOL. Then, watch what Ashley does when Jessica tries to get back ON the chair!

Ok, this one, well, we were in downtown Franklin, on our way home, and Sheri wanted Ashley to get some pictures of the buildings. There was a big grassy area in the middle and the road just went round and round, ok, well, we went round and round....and round. LOL. People probably thought we were some drunk women cruisin'. Especially with Ashley with that baseball cap on with the veil! LOL. Ok, the squeeky laugh on this video is none other than our little Jessica...I was sitting right next to her so that's why it's so loud. LOL. Love you Jess.

So, needless to say we had a great time! I can't wait till the real planning begins! It's gonna be so much fun! Thanks Ash for inviting me! :-)
